The Empathy is the Remedy Foundation Awards its first recipient

Through the generous support of Nicole’s family, friends, colleagues, teachers, classmates, and other donors, an endowed scholarship in Nicole’s name was established and this year on May 20th, 2022, the Empathy is the Remedy Foundation was able to award its first recipient, Brittany Kester, at the 37th annual IVC Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Due to the pandemic, awarding processes and ceremonies were halted but were reinstated this year and will continue to be awarded from here on out.

The Empathy is the Remedy Foundation is extremely grateful to have been apart of this unprecedented ceremony where more than $475,000 was able to be awarded to students, $50,000 more than has ever been awarded in previous years. The foundation is even more proud to have become a part of nurturing a student’s educational journey and academic success. It was overwhelming to see the plethora of students awarded, accompanied by their proud families across the crowds.

We would like to take a second to give our thanks:

Thank you to the IVC Foundation and our generous donors who contributed to getting Nicole's scholarship to the endowed level so that we can award it to a deserving student year after year in perpetuity.

Thank you to our first recipient, Brittany Kester, for exemplifying our foundation’s values through your inspirational story and your hard work and determination to give JOY to others. We wish your the best on your future endeavors.

And lastly, we’d like to thank all of you who have followed us through this journey, to those who have given us your full support, it is communities like ours that make astounding events like this possible.

We hope this scholarship continues to help students in need and bring JOY to the lives of many!
